SELL YOUR EQUIPMENT TO CENTRAL CAMERA COMPANY
We buy film and digital cameras, lenses and accessories that meet our quality standards. Value of used equipment is based on condition and functionality. All equipment must be personally inspected by us to determine value and assess suitability for resale. Equipment with significant cosmetic damage and/or functionality issues are considered 'for parts' value only. 

Items we often purchase: 

  • 35mm, medium format and large format film and digital cameras
  • Lenses for film and digital cameras
  • Film and digital point and shoot cameras
  • Light meters, speedlights/flash units
  • Better quality tripods 
We may be unable to purchase: 
  • Broken or non-functional gear with significant cosmetic and functionality issues
  • Items that don't power on, have faulty electronics, jammed shutters/mechanisms, and are otherwise broken or missing parts and components
  • Lenses with functionality and/or glass issues issues (fungus, haze, deep scratches) that affect photo quality
  • Film and digital cameras with faulty electronics, such as non-functional light meters 
  • Film cameras with discontinued film formats 
  • Digital cameras that are missing batteries/chargers
  • Movie cameras 
Specific items we generally are not able to purchase:
  • Antique and collectible cameras that are not functional or only suitable for display 
  • Movie projectors, slide projectors and slide trays
  • Studio lighting and supports, stands and accessories 
  • Darkroom enlargers
  • Binoculars, telescopes and astronomy equipment
  • Miscellaneous accessories such as filters, teleconverters, cases, and cleaning supplies
  • Non-photographic electronics such as computers, printers, scanners, televisions, monitors, phones, radios and mobile devices
  • Golf clubs and sporting goods

Donations and recycling
We gladly accept donations of most photographic equipment, including those mentioned above, as well as photographic supplies, books, memorabilia, photos, slides and movies (but seriously, no golf clubs, please!)

Per Chicago municipal code, you must provide a government issued photo ID when selling equipment to Central Camera Company.
